I am 38, very body conscious from scars due to Crohn’s disease and surgery over the years, along with having an ileostomy
- What initially inspired you to book a boudoir photoshoot?
I wanted to feel good about myself and try to see myself from a different point of view
- How did you feel leading up to the session? Any nerves or excitement?
I was super nervous and anxious as to what to expect initially, mixed with excitement
- Can you share a favourite moment or memory from the photoshoot experience?
Trying to get into the poses is not as easy as it looks haha! But well worth it!
- What made you choose me as your photographer for this intimate session?
I was made to feel completely comfortable from the initial phone call and Alison was very good at easing my fears – nothing was too much trouble!
- Did the final images meet your expectations?
Love them! Was not expecting to have trouble deciding which photos I wanted in my album but it was a very happy surprise – thank you!
- What aspects did you particularly love?
I like the outfit changes and experiencing ways of taking pictures that you wouldn’t otherwise normally do
- How did you feel seeing the finished photos for the first time?
I felt quite nervous to see my photos initially as I didn’t know what to expect but it was a happy surprise and made me feel quite beautiful!
- In what ways do you think the experience impacted your self-confidence or body positivity?
I think it allows you to look at yourself different and be kind to yourself
- Would you recommend a boudoir photoshoot to others and if so why?
100%! I think all women should feel empowered and confident in their own skin and doing this sort of photoshoot I so worth it
- How do you plan to use or display the images from your session?
They are for me personally to feel good and always to remind me that I CAN do anything
- Is there anything you would change or do differently if you were to do another boudoir photoshoot in the future?
Probably just different poses and push myself even more out my comfort zone
